"ProMark gives quicker and more reliable data than our ERP system"
Haas-Meincke A/S had successfully used job registration on the shop floor since the early 90s but in connection with a change of ERP system in 1996 they were forced to change their time & attendance system as well. After two years of struggling they gave up on the system and chose ProMark instead.
Management according to modern principles
The Haas-Meincke factory in Skovlunde, Denmark, employs 110 people, 60 of which work in production, which is managed according to modern principles with autonomous groups and a high degree of responsibility for each individual employee.
This means that management has to give the management tools needed to perform their jobs.
Here the ProJob module in ProMark plays a significant role. On centrally located PC terminals, all employees on the shop floor register the jobs that they are either working on or have completed.
These job registrations are used for costing of planned time in the ERP system compared to actually spent time in production. This way, Meincke has a better view of how much time the individual processes take in production.
”Often we are fined if we deliver too late so we have chosen to plan with unlimited capacity and in case of more orders than we can handle we outsource selected processes to sub-suppliers” says Anne Verheij, department manager of PTA and production.
Up to now, evaluation and information on the result for each production group has been the responsibility of the PTA department, but Anne Verheij also desires this part to be moved as close to the source/ production as possible. In that way, each employee can evaluate his own performance and thus feel a shared responsibility for the reliability of the system.
For this purpose Meincke utilises ProReport and are now able to render the results visible. The employees still have to come and ask for a print of a report, but in the long run Anne Verheij hopes that all employees will be able to receive information at the terminals on the shop floor.

Haas-Meincke A/S manufactures processing plants for the baking industry. These may include complete process lines for production of food, from mixing the ingredients – dough kneading – spraying – decorating – baking and finally cooling of the items.
Baking machines from Meincke can be used for all types of food baking production including crackers, cakes, cream puffs, jam rolls, crisp bread etc.
All machines are developed according to the exact job they are to perform and are built exactly according to individual customer specifications. This means that they have very small production series of two to five items.
