IVARSSONS I METSJÖ

Ivarssons i Metsjö chooses ProMark for better production monitoring

Easier recording of working hours, both for individual employees and by product, will give Ivarssons i Metsjö the accuracy of information it needs for paying out the correct salaries, pricing products correctly and specifying realistic delivery times. Close contact with Ivarssons' Nordic customers and ProMark are among the advantages of producing in Sweden.

We were growing out of our Brana system and were looking for a more complete system capable of dealing with the approximate 100 employees we have today; a system capable of growing and which could be integrated with our payroll system from Visma and our Balans business system from Vitek Veriba. "We chose ProMark, which was also competitive for reasons of price", says Carin Klang Löfling, payroll administrator for Ivarssons i Metsjö.

Besides user-friendly time recording for correct and easy payroll administration, Ivarssons i Metsjö was also interested in having the means to monitor times for each product in order to improve control of delivery times and identify bottlenecks in its high pressure production process with high stock levels.

"We have direct transfers to salary from ProMark, and the actual administration of the system doesn't take up that much of my time. As a result, I now have time to examine time consumption on the various products at various stages of production. We want to know what the real costs are for all products and we need to be able to identify and remove bottlenecks in production," says Carin Klang Löfling.

Ivarssons i Metsjö is a growing and successful production company. It is living proof that small companies with what would seem to be simple products can successfully produce in Sweden despite costs levels by being close to the market and giving customers exactly what they want.

"We are happy to provide a foundation for the monitoring of costs for the various products to help Ivarssons correctly calculate prices and profitability and optimise production," says Henrik Trolle, CEO of Mark Information in Sweden.

Ivarssons i Metsjö has purchased ProMark with clocking-on/clocking-off time recording, and since September 2007 has also used the job module for monitoring time consumption and thus product costs and their variations for each product. The next step will be to integrate ProMark with the Balans business system from Vitek Veriba.

THE CHALLENGE
Things are going well for Ivarssons i Metsjö, but with the previous system it was extremely difficult to calculate what products really cost to produce, nor could one monitor variations in time and resource consumption for the same product produced at different times. The company was growing out of the old Brana system, which required a great deal of work, and which was not set up so that employees could themselves report their working hours.

THE SYSTEM
ProMark, which is integrated with the payroll system from Visma, is also integrated with the Balans business system from Vitek Veriba. Employees record their own working hours, thereby eliminating sources of error, boosting confidence in the system and taking the weight off the payroll administrator, who can now concentrate on other tasks. ProMark's job module helps Ivarssons to monitor time consumption and production costs for the various products.

ADVANTAGES
All employees record their own working hours and absences. This means one less source of error, more reliable salary payments and less work for the payroll office. Moreover, it is easier for Ivarssons i Metsjö to monitor time consumption for the various production steps and products, and prepare better forecasts for delivery times and finished products. This provides for the improved utilisation of human resources, which in turn boosts profitability and, together with proximity to the customer, the preconditions for continued production in Sweden.
